MONROE COUNTY MONITORING & REACTION CENTER

The Monitoring Reaction Center (MRC) is used by several different Monroe County Agencies. The facility, attached to an existing pre-engineered building, includes the Rochester 911 backup facility, County monitoring center, conference, training, and testing, as well as technical fitting space for county, city, police and ERV’s.

EXTERIOR

With communications at the core of the building’s use, the building height was dictated by the large communications tower required.

EXTERIOR

Site security not only needed to meet UL guidelines, it also had to meet stringent airport security standards, including hardening of the facility. The building's envelope was designed to achieve latest energy efficiency standards.

OUTDOOR ROOF DECK

Special consideration was given to provide the staff to provide quiet, stress-free areas such as lounge spaces, a break room, and outdoor roof deck.

CONFERENCE ROOM

All spaces are technology driven, but also allow for flexibility. The conference room can function as a briefing room, host political events, or if ever necessary, be converted to bunk rooms.

RECEPTION

This modern reception area provides both a lobby that can be used as a decompression zone, with outdoor views, and as a secure area for public waiting.

LOUNGE

Lounge areas provide comfortable, warm and soft spaces for employees and visitors alike.

BREAK ROOM

Warm neutral colors and natural materials were used to warm up the break room and create an inviting place to relax for the staff.

MONITORING CENTER

The center provides full technology and spaces to accommodate the needs of agencies including. It also provides large tactical units storage, emergency vehicle fit-up station, and secure technology storage.

HALLWAY

Even the humble hallway deserves bold and compelling design.

DATA ROOM

Providing both security and visibility, the data room in the center is the technology engine supporting all of the building’s functions.
